Released 18 June 2020 (build 5918). Thirty-six builds followed, up to VirtualDJ 2023 in December 2022. Before VirtualDJ 2023, this series has one post per major release, covering the builds that followed it.
What changed
- Real-time stem separation on any track.
- ModernEQs that separate far more accurately than frequency-based EQs.
- Stem pads for live mash-ups and remixes.
- New, clearer waveforms.
For your library
The last era before VirtualDJ 2023, and plenty for your library along the way:
- Hashtags to organise your database, with quick filters to use them.
- An Order column for playlists and virtual folders, a new export dialog for both, and a fix for virtual folders not saving their order when songs were moved.
- Fixes the database restore not saving the restored database completely, plus fixes to the backup feature and the automatic backup period.
- Reading Rekordbox 6 playlists.
Hashtags and play history live in each song’s database entry. That’s why repairing a broken path matters more than re-adding the song: the repaired entry keeps everything you’ve built up.
