Released 22 September 2019 (build 5308). Eleven builds followed, to June 2020. Before VirtualDJ 2023, this series has one post per major release, covering the builds that followed it.
What changed
- A brand-new interface (the old one stayed available under Interface, “Old”).
- The Event Scheduler.
- Improved advanced harmonic mixing.
- Beatport compatibility.
For your library
- A Restore Database Backup option, to go with the backup added in 2018.
- Fixes a crash reading a corrupt database.
- A command to search for a song inside your playlists and virtual folders.
- Fixes for iTunes playlists on macOS 10.15.
VirtualDJ’s own backup and restore covers the database as a whole. VDJTools also backs up every file it’s about to change before a repair, and checks the result afterwards, so a repair can always be undone.
