A handful of options work the same way across most VDJTools commands, rather than belonging to just one repair. This page covers those — the ones worth knowing regardless of what you’re running.

Output and diagnostics #

  • /verbose — shows more detail as a command runs. Handy if something’s taking longer than expected and you want to see what it’s actually doing.
  • /scan — runs in scan-only mode: has a look, reports back, changes nothing. Similar in spirit to a Healthcheck, but scoped to whatever command you’ve attached it to.

Filtering #

  • /include:<type1,type2,...> — only include the listed media types: music, video or karaoke.
  • /exclude:<type1,type2,...> — leave the listed media types out. It wins over /include.

Useful when you only want to work on part of your library in one pass — say, your music but not your karaoke.

Example commands #

vdjtools /healthcheck /verbose
vdjtools /repair:database /stage:export /include:music

A note on internal options #

You may occasionally see /rootFolder or /injectPath mentioned elsewhere — these exist for internal testing and aren’t something you’ll need in normal day-to-day use. VDJTools finds your VirtualDJ home folder automatically.
