# Command Options

A handful of options work the same way across most VDJTools commands, rather than belonging to just one repair. This page covers those — the ones worth knowing regardless of what you're running.

## Output and diagnostics

- `/verbose` — shows more detail as a command runs. Handy if something's taking longer than expected and you want to see what it's actually doing.
- `/scan` — runs in scan-only mode: has a look, reports back, changes nothing. Similar in spirit to a Healthcheck, but scoped to whatever command you've attached it to.

## Filtering

- `/include:<type1,type2,...>` — only include the listed media types: `music`, `video` or `karaoke`.
- `/exclude:<type1,type2,...>` — leave the listed media types out. It wins over `/include`.

Useful when you only want to work on part of your library in one pass — say, your music but not your karaoke.

## Example commands

```
vdjtools /healthcheck /verbose
vdjtools /repair:database /stage:export /include:music
```

## A note on internal options

You may occasionally see `/rootFolder` or `/injectPath` mentioned elsewhere — these exist for internal testing and aren't something you'll need in normal day-to-day use. VDJTools finds your VirtualDJ home folder automatically.
