If you’re new to VDJTools, here’s the order most repair sessions follow.
- Backup — take a safety copy before touching anything
- Healthcheck — run a read-only scan to see the full picture across your library
- Database export — start with the database, since it’s the central record everything else depends on
- AutoFix, then review — let VDJTools propose matches, then check them in the workbook
- Validate — confirm the workbook is sound
- Import — write the changes back to VirtualDJ
- CrossRef — carry the validated database fixes into playlists, history, and folders automatically
- Healthcheck again — confirm the library is clear
The database comes first deliberately: playlists, folders, and history all reference tracks the same way the database does, so fixing the central record first means CrossRef can clean up most of the rest automatically, rather than you repeating the same fixes four times over.
