You can run the same stage on several parts of your library in one command, rather than one repair at a time.

Chaining repairs #

List the repairs you want, separated by commas, and add the stage:

vdjtools /repair:folders,playlists,history /stage:export

VDJTools runs that stage on each repair in the order you list them. Every stage works in a chain: export, CrossRef, AutoFix, validate and import. A chained CrossRef carries your imported database fixes into every repair in the list in one run.

You rarely need to work out a chain yourself: the Healthcheck’s Next Steps gives you the command to run, with the repairs in the right order.

Finish the database first #

Folders, playlists and history get their fixes from the database: CrossRef copies the database fixes you’ve imported, and AutoFix only finds files that are in your VirtualDJ database. So repair the database on its own, import it, then chain the rest. The Healthcheck’s Next Steps say the same: database first, then the others once the database import says it’s complete.

Everything at once: /repair:all #

/repair:all runs a stage on every part of your library, in this order: database, folders, playlists, history. It supports three stages:

  • /repair:all /stage:export to list every broken path in one go
  • /repair:all /stage:validate to check everything you’ve fixed
  • /repair:all /stage:import to apply everything that’s validated

For AutoFix and CrossRef, use a chain such as /repair:folders,playlists,history.
